Yale University: Leadership Strategies in Book Publishing 2012

My dream is I could spend my year travelling the world: a writers festival here, a digital event there! Oh, for a magic carpet! Last year I did manage to fulfil that dream by spending a week in New Haven attending the Yale University Book Publishing course. In July 2011 I joined 64 attendees from 17 different countries who came to New Haven to hear 31 presentations. Really worthwhile and I wish I could attend again this year.

For those who may be wavering on the edge and thinking “Is it worth it?” I can answer YES. You can find out more about my experience by reading an article I wrote for Bookseller and Publisher and a blog post for the Small Press Underground Networking Community. Last year was stimulating, interesting and gave attendees the inside word on what was happening and changing in the publishing industry.  With further developments in the last year I wish I could be there again to hear their speakers.

My thanks to Jane Morrow who tweeted this picture to share with me that I feature on the Yale Publishing Course brochure for this year!

Find out more about their 2012 course here and remember, numbers are fairly limited!
